How do I install my wiper blades?

Your wiper blades come with everything you need for a quick and easy installation. You won't need any additonal tools. Check out our easy to follow installation guide for your wiper type.

How do I identify my Mazda BT-50 year and series?

Confirm whether the Mazda BT-50 is a Ute or Cab Chassis, then read the manufacture date and VIN from the label in the driver's doorway. Match that information to the series and trim:

  • 2020 - 2026 (TF / XS / XT)
  • 2020 - 2026 (SP / XTR / GT / Thunder [TF])
  • 2015 - 2020 (UP / UR)
  • 2011 - 2015 (UP)
  • 2006 - 2011 (CD / UN)

Ute and Cab Chassis bodies follow the same year breakdown. The two 2020 - 2026 trim ranges use different front connectors, so check whether the badge is XS or XT, or SP, XTR, GT or Thunder.

Frequently asked questions

What is the length of the Mazda BT-50 wiper blades?

For the Mazda BT-50:

  • 2020 - 2026 TF / XS / XT: 24 inches (600mm) driver and 16 inches (400mm) passenger
  • 2020 - 2026 SP / XTR / GT / Thunder [TF]: 23 inches (575mm) driver and 16 inches (400mm) passenger
  • 2015 - 2020 UP / UR: 24 inches (600mm) driver and 16 inches (400mm) passenger
  • 2011 - 2015 UP: 24 inches (600mm) driver and 17 inches (425mm) passenger
  • 2006 - 2011 CD / UN: 18 inches (450mm) on both sides

How to install front wiper blades for the Mazda BT-50?

First put the BT-50 wipers into service mode so the arms clear the bonnet. Raise one arm and keep a hand on it. Release the locking tab, then move the old blade away from the arm's connector.

Fit the correct replacement for its trim: J-hook, narrow push button or wide push button. Once the lock has engaged, pull on the blade to make sure it is held. Only then lower the arm back to the windscreen.

What connector type does the Mazda BT-50 use?

BT-50 connectors vary sharply. TF / XS / XT models use J-hooks. SP / XTR / GT / Thunder [TF] use narrow push buttons. 2015 - 2020 UP / UR use wide push buttons, while 2011 - 2015 UP and 2006 - 2011 CD / UN use J-hooks.

Did Mazda BT-50 wiper blade sizes change between generations?

Yes. The 2020 - 2026 BT-50 is split by trim: TF / XS / XT uses 24-inch (600mm) and 16-inch (400mm) blades, whereas SP / XTR / GT / Thunder [TF] uses 23-inch (575mm) and 16-inch (400mm). The connectors are different as well.

Do the Mazda BT-50 Ute and Cab Chassis use the same wiper blades?

Yes. Ute and Cab Chassis bodies share the same front blades when the year, series and trim match. A 2020 - 2026 XS Cab Chassis follows the TF / XS / XT fitment; an XTR Ute follows the separate SP / XTR / GT / Thunder [TF] fitment.

Do all Mazda BT-50 generations use the same front wiper-arm connector?

The 2020 - 2026 TF / XS / XT BT-50 has J-hook arms. The SP / XTR / GT / Thunder [TF] trims use narrow push buttons. The 2015 - 2020 UP / UR uses wide push buttons, and the earlier UP and CD / UN return to J-hooks.

How do I activate wiper service position on a Mazda BT-50?

Close the BT-50 bonnet fully and leave the wiper switch off. Cycle the ignition on and back off, then pull the washer switch towards you. The wipers rise into service mode. Fit the blades within the available service period, lower both arms carefully and operate the wipers when ready to park them again.

What's the difference in the Mazda BT-50 TF and UP / UR?

The 2020 - 2026 TF BT-50 is based on the Isuzu D-MAX, bringing a new chassis, 3.0-litre diesel and a major safety and cabin upgrade. The 2015 - 2020 UP / UR shares its foundations with the Ford Ranger instead.
