How do I identify my Hyundai i30 year and series?

Confirm whether the Hyundai i30 is a Hatch, Wagon or Sedan. CN7 is the Sedan, PD is a Hatch, and GD or FD may be a Hatch or Wagon. Hyundai may fit the certification label to either front centre pillar; it can show the manufacture month, year and VIN.

A 2017 Hatch may be PD or GD, and the wiper sizes differ. PD has a broad cascading grille extending deep into the front bumper and slimmer headlights. GD has a smaller hexagonal grille and larger headlights that sweep back towards the front guards.

A 2012 Hatch or Wagon may be GD or FD, which also use different wipers. GD has the more sculpted body, swept headlights and a sharply rising window line. FD is taller and squarer through the roof and rear, with shorter, rounder headlights.

How to install front wiper blades for the Hyundai i30?

Lift the PD i30 arm first and lay a towel over the windscreen underneath it. The curved end of the arm comes out through the opening in the old adaptor. Feed that same curved end through the replacement, pull the blade along until the clip grabs, and make sure it is locked before the arm goes back onto the glass.

How do I install the rear wiper blade on a Hyundai i30?

At the back of an i30 Hatch, lift the arm and pull the blade socket away from the moulded hook until it releases. Offer up the replacement, push the socket over the hook and listen for it to snap home. That is the rear blade fitted.

What connector type does the Hyundai i30 use?

Up front, PD, CN7, GD and FD i30 models use J-hook. Hatch and Wagon rear arms use hook-and-socket fittings, while the CN7 Sedan has front wipers only.
